One-on-one, In-home Training

Picture
We meet with you and your dog in your home (or wherever problem behaviors occur) to determine the exact nature of the problem. Working in your home allows us to quickly assess your dog’s needs, and enables us to deal with them without being interrupted by other dogs or distractions.

Puppy Training

Picture
Did you know that  the period of development from 4 – 16 weeks of age is magical for puppies? Exposure to the wide world during this period helps them become more comfortable making them more relaxed as adult dogs and making your life easier . We can help you make the most of this short-lived window of opportunity by introducing them to many of the things that they will typically encounter, and teaching them how to handle them.

Manners & Skills  Training

Picture
We teach your dog to sit, loose-leash walk, come when called ,  "leave it", as well as other skills using positive reinforcement methods. We work with many adolescent dogs (8 months – 2 years) who do not do these things well.

Even if they learned them as a puppy, adolescent dogs often need to relearn these behaviors once they start to mature. Living with a well-trained, happy dog makes life much easier now and avoids many dog behavior problems.

Aggression Help

Picture
Does your dog guard food bowls, toys, furniture, people or anything else?  Does he bark, growl, or lunge at visitors, or show other aggressive displays? Studies show that it is important to address this sooner rather than later. The longer your pet acts this way, the more likely his aggressiveness will increase.

We can help you and your dog in your home with one-on-one, in-home dog training to come to terms with the reasons for their aggression and change their response. They will move away from an aggressive response to a neutral or happy response.

Dogs and Kids

Picture
While kids love dogs in their own way, dogs don't always return their affection. Why? Dogs have a very different set of social rules than we humans. Dogs are sensitive creatures who can become afraid and react accordingly. Kids should be taught to respect dogs, and most dogs can be taught to tolerate and even like children, but it's not an automatic relationship. We can help with both.
